Ride High is a registered charity that transforms the lives of disadvantaged children by giving them the opportunity to learn to ride and care for horses and ponies. Through the unique connection between children and horses, we effect lasting change in their attitude, wellbeing, self-confidence and life prospects — helping them to become happy, confident young people who are positively engaged in the world around them.

Our home is the Ride High Equestrian Centre in the heart of Milton Keynes. It’s not only the base for our charity’s work — it’s also a riding school open to the public, offering lessons, livery and school holiday activities. Every penny of profit from the equestrian centre directly supports the charitable work of Ride High, so when you ride with us, you’re helping to change children’s lives.

Our shared story

When Rachel Medill MBE founded Ride High in 2008, she had a simple but powerful vision: that horses could change children’s lives for the better. From the beginning, she believed in offering children who were struggling — often with few other sources of support — a place of safety, consistency, friendship and fun.

Over time, the charity grew, and the equestrian centre became central to its mission — providing both a nurturing environment for our members and a thriving social enterprise that sustains our work. Today, the two are deeply intertwined: the charity and the equestrian centre work hand in hand, creating a community where people and horses come together for good.
